Painted between January and February of 2018, Gabriela Gil found herself reflecting on perfectionism and balance during this time. On one side, her technical skills had visibly improved; however, she also found herself very caught up in the details, striving towards perfection vs. excellence. The color palette and positioning of the fish are reflective of this idea of balance, of the two side of things, and finding harmony between two opposites.
