Flow of Music 1, 2021

This was a piece inspired by the song Gnossienne: No. 1 by Erik Satie. The collector, a lover of classical music and the Siamese series, wanted a piece for the entrance of her home in SoHo. The painting was to be adapted to cover 3 doors, and needed to harmonize with paintings that already hung in the space - mostly portraits made with traditional painting techniques. Gabriela Gil, wanted the piece to not only reflect the movement of the song, but also create a flowing feeling as people walked past the entrance into the open space of the living room.
